Responding effectively to the series of events in Canterbury required a collaborative and coordinated communications approach. New relationships had to be formed and leveraged efficiently to provide clarity to the community.

About Renee Walker
Renée Walker has 17 years of international marketing and communications experience. Having started her career as a Marketing Executive in the fast-paced magazine industry in Sydney, Renée has been employed as the Head of Communications for Canterbury Recovery at IAG since July 2011.
Actively involved in earthquake recovery efforts since September 2010, Renée is fiercely dedicated to the City she has called home for the past ten years.
Prior to joining IAG Renée provided Marketing & Communications leadership for Canterbury Development Corporation, Recover Canterbury and the Canterbury Business Recovery Trust Fund. A major achievement during this time was the launch of Love Christchurch, a campaign designed to re-ignite people's passion for the City.
Renée holds a MBA, a Business degree and a post graduate diploma in Journalism. She sits on a number of committees and boards including the Canterbury Business Leaders Group and PRINZ (Southern Region).
